Benoît Robert

Benoît ROBERT, civil engineer, is professor at École Polytechnique of Montreal in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering. In 2000, he founded the Centre risque & performance, a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to the integration of risks in the evaluation of the performance of critical infrastructures. It specializes in the study of interdependencies and domino effects between several critical infrastructures subjected to anthropic hazards, such as a combination of natural and technological hazards as well as human reliability. He has developed an expert system of interdependency modeling that is applied to the cities of Montréal and Québec. He is also developing a resilience methodology for the critical systems of Québec with numerous governmental partners as well as territorial resilience indexes. In addition to his research activities, Professor Robert teaches technological project management, technological risk management, emergency and business continuity planning and organizational resiliency engineering.
